“CITY STAR” is a work about my personal feeling about a city night view. For me, every city becomes a sky that is full of stars. The overall image of the night view is like the star sky.
Audiences see the "sky" like viewing sky in the countryside through the HD video projection on the ceiling. They are not only enjoying the beautiful sky macroscopically, but also a telescope is provided in order to let the audience see the “stars” microscopically.
The projection is a real-time non-edited HD-video, which are walled buildings in Tseung Wan. The point of real-time is hope the audiences experience the peaceful night view, more than see the exciting changing of flats.

ReplyDeleteafter seeing your, i think that your work is like saying about Hong Kong are too much light pollution. when you look at the sky you can only see the light. we cannot see the real stars because of the light. the light open 24 hours and non-stop opening. ; )

The experience of lay down and see the star night gives me a sense of relax.

Wow! It is dramatic when I first see this work. I like the experience in watching up the ceiling to see a micro video, which is shoot by high technological camera. It is so fantastic when looking a small people moving around instead of looking stars (well, it is a parody, we never see so much stars in Hong Kong). But it would be better if the bed can be replaced by a more comfortable one…and don’t let the spectators see the projector by my side. I will love it more. J
